amorphisgarden If this doesn’t make you want to travel into space to confront the reality of our insignificantly minuscule existence among the vastness of the universe, nothing will. Maybe there is a citadel somewhere out there, or maybe you’ll get sucked into a black hole...Aureoles music is the soundtrack to it all.

Currer Bell-Eyre In the gluttony that has taken hold of Atmospheric Black Metal, it is truly refreshing to encounter a band like this--or person, more rather--nonetheless, this album does not sacrifice riffs for atmosphere. Instead, the riffs help shape the atmosphere. The drumming is impeccable, as well. Cannot recommend this release enough.

Special thanks to WAAKE of Hag Graef for sending this my way. Favorite track: V: Hyperwarp [Alunar >> Borealis].

Mehtul I'm pretty late getting on the Markov Soroka bus, but not sorry for boarding! All of his work is incredible.

Anthony The wait for this second LP by Aureole was one of deep anticipation. MS has created a beautifully focused, atmospheric masterpiece that is heavy in thoughtful concept. Vocally, this offering is a huge departure from where Aureole left off with the Resonance: Crimson Void material (one of my very favorite vocal performances) where those vocals instilled a feeling of dread; the vocals on Aurora Borealis feel painful and distant in a good way. Amazing album. Favorite track: IV: Worlds of Ice Stretched Thin Across the Skull.

Klepthor the Escape Artist Like a fat, juicy, bloody, burger, but replace everything with a bleak landscape of nothing and cold, cold, cold. Favorite track: V: Hyperwarp [Alunar >> Borealis].

Aurora Borealis is an 8 track full length album addressing the cognitive realities of Earthen nature realized by M.S. in Reykjavík, Iceland. Written in December during the recordings of the 'Tchornobog' album.

The album as a whole visualizes the Aurora Borealis as a gateway from Earth to space by use of solar winds. Through this, the early functions of Citadel Alunar are revealed. The preparations made by human craftsmen ensured that The Citadel was created properly to succumb to cold, dead, and empty space.

Among one of the skulls of these craftsmen nestled a rebellion of Earthen life. A psychological disorder -- his desire to die in the cosmos proved to be a most painful experience.

Track Name: IV: Worlds of Ice Stretched Thin Across the Skull
We attribute to the human --
A desire for balance of purpose and meaninglessness.

For the mind that seeks to advance to the void
Must first understand the veil that divides them to it.
